Catastrophe! Taxi driver abandoned me!

Hey guys! So, I have to tell you about the weekend. I had really treated myself to a few days alone in the hotel. I thought it would be mega chill, but well… life has other plans for me! I had to check out on Sunday evening and thought to myself: “Come on, take a taxi, it’s much more comfortable.” When the driver looked at the taximeter, my heart sank. “Um, I don’t have anything with me,” I said, and his reaction was just incredulous. He just stopped at the highway and threw me out! I stood there, and was really lost. There was no other person around, and I had no plan how to get home. After a few minutes of panic, I’m lucky. Suddenly a car stopped! A nice gentleman asked if I needed help. I told him what had happened. “Get in, I’ll take you home,” he said. At the destination, he makes me an offer that I didn’t quite expect.
